Imagination & creativity in children books
Today is the first day of spring, and Little Rabbit is happy because all of nature is coming back to life. But they say spring is the season of love.
But what is love? wonders Little Rabbit.
Big Bear tells him that love is sharing with others from the heart. For the pair of sparrows, it’s spending time together. For the beaver, it’s lending a paw to those in need and finding joy in helping. After seeing again his friend—the child he met the previous spring—and spending time with a young fawn, Little Rabbit comes to understand that love is also about bringing sunshine into the hearts of others…
One day, a curious little rabbit wonders what happiness really is. To find the answer, he sets out to meet the creatures of the forest. And to each one he asks: “Tell me, what is happiness?”
They all have different answers: for the flower, it’s feeling the sun’s rays gently warming its petals; for the great oak, it’s feeling beautiful and majestic; for the bird, it’s soaring freely through the sky; and for the bear, it’s scratching his back against a tree and feasting on honey.
After meeting some field mice and a butterfly, it’s with a child that Little Rabbit realizes happiness can take many forms.
In the previous book, Little Rabbit asked the forest animals about happiness, and in this new story, he sets out to discover love. Thanks to his encounters, he begins to better understand this emotion that plays such an important role in our relationships with others.
